-- WHITNEY LIVINGSTON --

-- Melody --
Nicknames: Whit, Dimples
Age: 16
Birthday: February 27th
Grade: Junior
Job: Works at Walden Books
Neighborhood:
Jackson Hills -House #13
Personality:
Smart and cultured, Whitney can give the appearance of being the sweetest
girl that ever lived. She'll be polite, kind and understanding, actually
showing concern in her face and her actions. But Whitney is really the
biggest poser in school. She dumbs herself down around the Cheerleaders and
hides her grace and intelligence with guys. In a lot of ways she's ashamed
of who she is, sometimes even self-loathing. Cause of this Whitney can come
off as being a tight-ass. But she isn't a stuck up in the least. She just
wants to give the aura of being important: worthy of the title of 'popular'.
The real Whitney isn't this flighty, giggly, airhead, without a care in the
world - that's the fake Whitney. The real her is complex. She's the
cheerleader hiding in the library. She's sincere, thoughtful and the type
who would just as happy poor. Whit is an intellectual who devours books and
is always asking questions. She just wishes that she could be happy with who
she really is someday.

One would think that a girl like Whitney would be adored by her parents.
That they would just dote on her, loving her for being so thin and beautiful
and intelligent. Rather Whitney has been forced to live in her sister,
Helena's shadow. Helena hit puberty and she instantly became the town
goddess, the social superstar and the Prom Queen. Whit was often scolded for
not being more like Helena. Her mother especially seemed to be disappointed
whenever she saw Whitney lost in a book. She thought it a noble thing to
learn piano for Mrs. Livingston, and it worked for about a week - but Whit
stuck with it cause she mastered it quickly (and because it made Helena
jealous).
Mr. Livingston on the other hand, gave up on changing her and gave her the
key to his personal library on her 14th birthday. He defies his wife and
lets Whitney do whatever she wants, with the exception of the rare black tie
event. Whitney's mother still looks upon her disapprovingly for being such a
"boring, little bookworm" - her words exactly, that made her cry once. That
was last year. This year Whitney's on the cheerleading squad and apparently
her mother and her sister respect her a bit more. At the same time, Whit
started to hate herself more. But she toughs it out, cause she feels like
being popular is an obligation. She even began to act a bit more like
Helena: giggly, dumb and light-hearted, which really made her mother happy.
Her Dad's concerned, but Whitney just shrugs it off and puts up her act
around him.
Other little facts: Black and blue are her favorite
colors. She's allergic to oil-based foundation, so she doesn't wear a lot of
make-up. Whit takes good care of her skin and has a natural look. She's
talented with the piano and doesn't mind playing for anyone. She practically
devours books, especially classics. She is an eloquent writer too. She hates
the word: nerd. Indie rock music is her obsession. Whit was a gymnast in
elementary and middle school but quit when she sprained her ankle on a bad
back flip. The only thing she does more of than read, is watch movies.
Sprite is her favorite drink
