Personality: Tamzyn isn't sucked in by labels and expensive things. She's never even seen Gucci let alone owned it. She doesn't know what she is missing out on though so it's no big deal, to her anyway. She prefers the company of guys, or girls who aren't make-up and boy crazy, and is more likely to be found in the stands watching a football game (Though she doesn't get this American Football thing) than shopping in the mall. She's a sporty girl, who spent more time at the beach, surfing with the boys, camping out and getting right into nature than she did skimming the pages of a fashion magazine and discovering make-up. The most she'll ever wear is lip gloss, and dresses? Tamzyn generally gets around in a pair of board shorts and a singlet(tank top) with a bikini underneath. She is in a culture shock because she now has to wear clothes that fit under the school dress code. Tamzyn is a small town girl. She hadn't even ventured out of the small beach community of Margaret River (Western Australia) until she was accepted in the student exchange program. All she really knows about American Schools is what she has seen on TV, and though it seems exciting, she's so frightened that they aren't going to like her, and that they won't understand her. In Margaret River everybody looks out for everyone else, and they are very wary of strangers. Now being a stranger herself, she's not sure how she will get along.

Relationship Status: Single - She never really dated much back home. Sure she's made out at parties and stuff, but never a serious boyfriend. There really wasn't a lot of choice back home. There were only 23 students in her year back home, and they took classes with the other years.

Tamzyn lives on the island with a host family. They have apparently taken somebody in every year since their son Sebastian started College, and Tamzyn is the first girl they have ever had. Both Bruce and Diane are excited, because they always wanted to have a daughter, and they are hoping that Tamzyn will fit in well with their family. They are fairly laid back host parents, in fact she's more likely to put a restriction or curfew on herself than to have them enforce one on her, however, when they do, she respects them enough to stick to it. Back home she has a loving family that she is rather close to, but Tamzyn knows she will miss Stevie the most because he has always related more to her than he has their other brother. She had some concerns about leaving Fred (Michael's nickname) behind, because he had just started to fall into a really bad crowd, started smoking pot, cutting class, and generally ignoring his parents altogether.

Other little facts: Tamzyn was half way through her Senior year back home and by accepting this exchange program, she will have to go back and repeat when she finishes here. She's also on a three strikes you're out system, so she can't afford to get in trouble while she is over here. She's a B student usually, though she works really hard for that grade and is proud of it. She will drink on occasion, but only by her choice, she won't be pressured into it, and though she has smoked pot in the past, she hates smoking. Tamzyn was the state Junior Women's Surfing Champion for the last two years running. She even brought her wetsuit with her in the hopes of getting out there.
