-- HALEY PRESCOTT --

-- El --
Nicknames: Hales
Age: 15
Birthday: March 14th
Grade: Junior
Job: None
Neighborhood:
Pinehurst
Personality:
Haley is sweet, semi-emotional, and endearingly naïve. As the youngest
Prescott and only girl, she has been doted on since her birth by three
protective older brothers, but she is too easygoing to be spoiled. She does
not go out of her way to draw attention and confrontation is something she
despises with a passion, though she can be stubborn. This feeds into her
determination to see the best in everyone (too much sometimes for her own
good)—and yet her innocence seems to have a way of drawing out a softer side
in people. She is a fairly social person who enjoys being with friends and
participating in school events, though in the last year and a half she has
come more to crave time alone. Nevertheless Haley is tenderhearted and
emotional and she used to frequently (and unintentionally) wear her heart on
her sleeve. Since the accident, she has gained a quiet sort of maturity and
has become subtly withdrawn, and more personal thoughts and emotions pretty
much have to be pried out of her...and even then a person might not get the
whole "scoop." In addition, growing up in an almost all-male household has
given her a bit of a tomboy bent, especially as a child, though her mother
made sure it did not get too out of hand in order to retain what touch of
femininity remained in the Prescott home…but she's a bit tougher than her
appearance indicates.

Haley is close to her family and pretty much adores her older brothers.
She has always enjoyed tagging along with them and attempted from
a young age to be one of the group. For the most part they
were tolerant of her adoration and enthusiasm; enough of an age
difference existed that she was cute and not completely annoying.
In fact they came to enjoy coaching her in numerous sports, as
she was an eager learner, and more than once she was allowed to come
along when they got together and shot hoops with friends at the park.
Being the only girl, she does have a special bond with her
mother. They do silly girl things at times like watch
chick flicks and paint their toenails, though to an extent, she shares
the same sort of bond with her dad—minus the chick flicks and toenail
painting (although he did, just once, when she was ten, let her paint
his toes with the shiny new polish she'd gotten for Christmas).
Watching sports games In her free time is not uncommon, but it's
more because she enjoys her brothers than anything.
Other little facts:
Haley was started in school a year early instead of a year behind, and thus
she has always been younger than many of her classmates. She was teased and
bullied off and on in elementary school, but she got used to it and does her
best now not to pay attention when it happens. She does make good grades,
though it is primarily because she studies hard; Matt especially is the one
with a natural affinity for academics. A month before the start of her
sophomore year, she was in the car with her brother, Ben, when they were
broadsided by a drunk driver. Ben died six hours later, and Haley spent two
weeks in the hospital. It was traumatic for the whole family—something they
never expected—and it's something she's not recovered from. For the most
part, she seems to most to have returned to her bubbly self, but the
accident is something she blames herself for and has never really talked to
anyone about it, nor does she ever desire to.
